12/07/2011. According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources in the early second decade of July diminution of water level was observed in the rivers of the Azerbaijan Republic. At the current time water richness holds 70-120 % of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 70-130% in Lankaran-Astara region rivers, 80-110 % in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, and 100-140 % in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR. Current situation in the transit rivers Water consumption holds 172 m3/sec, i.e. 83% of decade norm (in 2010, 71% being 148 m3/ sec) in Qiraqkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 98 m3/ sec, i.e. 88 % of decade norm (in 2010, 85% being 95 m3/ sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh river.
Current situation in the downstream of Kura river
Currently water level holds 459 cm (on July 12, 2010, 824 cm) in Surra settlement, 334 cm (on July 12, 2010, 616 cm) in Shirvan region, 257 cm (on July 12, 2010, 361 cm) in Banka settlement, 311 cm (on July 12, 2010, 612 cm) in Salyan region, and 200 cm (on July 12, 2010, 414 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
